I'm not actually convinced this film is a comedy - they might just be marketing it as one because that plays better. I agree that the book is not a comedy, but it IS a book with some amazingly funny stories to tell. It's a book that is highly sympathetic towards Tommy Wiseau so I kind of expect that the movie will carry some of that with it

#11. Tasha Yar

This high up almost solely because of Yesterday's Enterprise. She's a solid hand mucking around in the terrible first season. She doesn't have too many high points, and if that were the end of her, she'd be much further down the list. However, Yesterday's Enterprise is one of the best episodes ever and Tasha's heartrending existence and decision-making in the episode and getting a meaningful death were captivating. I also rather like how there were further consequences in the form of Sela.

Really, I think this ranking is just for Alt-Tasha since the original was confined to the first season I barely remember (expect The Naked Now... oh boy).

It took Vince three years to notice Seth's silly pause in his music. Maybe he'll notice Owens in 2021 and go, "We gave that guy titles all the time?" Seriously, Owens almost never goes a month without a title reign of some sort. The whole U.S. statpadding was a bit much, but 2-3 IC reigns, the Universal, and god knows how many U.S. titles. He's definitely had success.

#12. Moriarty

Nigel from The Nanny!

Okay, Moriarty. A two-episode character who features in some very quality holodeck Data episodes. I quite enjoyed the Season 2 outing of Data, LaForge, and somehow Pulaski into a simple mystery story. Moriarty wasn't brilliant, but I appreciated the role he played as instructed to be able to best Data. Though Lore was featured as the anti-thesis to an emotionless machine, the chaos to Data's lawful logic, Moriarty's disruption of known factors and the spirit of his conception and role brought a nice art to task Data with figuring out this mystery. His second episode was even better, factoring in a really solid and tricky holodeck program that, while solved with something as stupid as left-hand versus right-hand, was quite an excellent adventure, and probably the first outing of Barclay's where I enjoyed his character. Moriarity ranks this (relatively) high based on going two-for-two in episode quality. Though I may have liked to have seen a third entry from him, I really enjoyed how both his episodes went and the ending for "Ship in a Bottle" was quite excellent.

#13. Wesley Crusher

Three weeks and I still don't know what to say about Wesley.

For the most part, early episodes of TNG are pretty well blocked from my mind. Wesley was a heavy feature of why I block them. He truly is the annoying kid who is good at everything, and he also had a lot of really really bad outfits.

However, whenever I sit down and put on a rerun of TNG, I swear 30% of the time it's the Ashley Judd Wesley episode and he's either really fun in that or Ashley Judd's just too blindingly good. I also put things off because the last time I started writing out a Wes review, it was the final night of @midnight and Wil Wheaton was very fun!

Honestly, I don't know what to say. He's a better and more interesting character than his mother, but he doesn't play off anyone else well. I relate to him as an unknowingly entitled 'know-it-all' kind of former teenager, and I appreciate his steps towards maturity despite the whole shamanic path. The character has a few better than average episodes despite all the other wrongs he's featured heavily in.

There hasn't really been a struggle with placement since the Lore and Borg Queen entries. I definitely like those yet to place better in slightly different aspects, but I feel kind of awkward ranking Wesley while I don't have much to say, so I guess I'll just shut up.

I'm talking as someone ignorant of US law so I'd like someone to teach me a bit here. But from what I've seen cases are often judged on the amount of compensation asked for. Which kind of means if you've got the money to throw at the court case you could theoretically sue anyone for a dollar who'd inconvenienced you and win.

The chances of him being completely innocent are slim, and the chances of her actually wanting to sue him for just putting his hand close to her ass are slimmer though.

So idk why she'd sue him for a dollar if there was proof she was sexually assaulted?

He lost his job because of the accusations and sued her for $257000 for false accusations. She countersued for $1.

Then there was Prophecy. Mark Rosewater has described Prophecy as "the second-worst set ever designed." And as a stand-alone set, he's right. There was no mechanical continuity, no innovation, and its main gimmick -- "Rhystic" magic that could be nerfed if your opponent paid mana into it -- just sucked. "Opponent choice" mechanic strikes again. The Avatars were cool, but Prophecy remains the lowest EV pack to open for a reason. f*** Prophecy. Even the lore was bad.

#65: Girl Meets World

Premise: A Sequel to Boy Meets world starring Cory and Topanga's daughter
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Girl Meets World is a spinoff from Boy Meets World, only with a female main character instead of a male one. At times the show can be very anvilcious, and without subtlty. They repeat their themes a bit too much. But I think the characters were still a lot of fun. Riley was goofy and optimistic. Her naivety made her character funny. ("Look at the bird!") She was all sunshine and rainbows. Maya on the other hand was the cynic with a good heart. And easily the best new character on the show. Her father left when she was little, and her mom was always busy with work. Most people I think watched for the stars of the old show--Cory, Topanga, Shawn, and the occasional appearance by some of the other characters. Like Eric (who in his appearances was truly funny. "Fine, stay a hobbit!") I think the show did make the mistake of trying to repeat the relationship of Cory and Topanga with Riley. Of course I'm a Riley/Maya shipper, but I just think that they didn't need some sort of 'meant to be together' storyline, and I think it would have been nice if Lucas had just been another friend (in addition to Farkle who is basically Minkus given actual screentime) without being a romantic interest for either of the girls. I thought the show was fun, goofy, and overall likable--much like the main character. It's one of Disney's better shows, and it was certainly helped by having the history of some of the cast. I think it tried a bit too hard to capture the magic of the original instead of trying to be it's own thing--which oddly enough was the theme of one of the episodes.

I agree with a lot of what you said, and I was hoping we could have some real high school seasons and growth because if you look back on the first few seasons of Boy Meets World... it's about the same in terms of repeated stories and an emphasis on Alan and Amy with bringing in his old band mates in The Monkees and other things. Cory is both a veteran of the old show and the dual role of dad and teacher so it felt about right how much time the parents were getting in many respects.

I do feel that the second season was too heavy on bringing back old BMW alumni and not focusing enough on Riley, Maya, and their classmates. Maya is one of my favorite characters and Riley's not far behind. I like Farkle's growth, Lucas' backstory and steadiness, and Zay and Smackle really brought a lot more than I first expected when they showed up. I also liked that we got quite a bit of Augie, Dewey, and Ava Morganstern. That felt more like Cory and Topanga than anything ever.

Also, credit to the past castmates showing up. Shawn brought so much to the show with his appearances, Eric was somewhat unexpected but PERFECT, and I really enjoyed the little brother Maya crushed heavy on. Then you've got those that... holy crap.

Janitor Harley showing up just about as much as Janitor Bud.
Superintendent Turner, and especially ESPECIALLY his scene with Shawn in the finale. **** I'm crying already.

Anderson Cooper was the best reality TV show host. I really liked the concept of the mole, and the show was pretty good. Each week players would compete in certain tasks, and The Mole would try to sabotage them. Players and viewers had to both figure out who it was. Then at the end everyone took a quiz, and whoever scored lowest would be eliminated. The eliminations were pretty cool. They also had clues each week to the mole's identity--but they were mostly ridiculous and nobody could ever figure them out. One of the better reality shows, though they went the celebrity route and sort of ruined it I think. Did we really need Stephen Baldwin twice?
